Summer Zoom Programme

Due to the global pandemic of Coronavirus, our physical camera club meetings have been suspended. However, we are endeavouring to continue our activities online with virtual meetings via Zoom and we have now put together a full programme of events over the summer with some meetings being shared with Matlock Camera Club.  If you don’t yet have Zoom you can download it here – click on Zoom Client for Meetings.

1st July “How to Carve Your Own Headstone” by Barry Thomas – ADCC Member’s Evening. A short presentation with photos and video to be followed by questions.

8th July ” The Art Of Macro Photography” with Tony North BPE3, CPAGB. Get to hear about Tony’s experience and knowledge of macro photography, as well as his philosophy and approach to photography as an art. Outside of getting to see many outstanding images we will get some useful tips on how to overcome the main 7 challenges within macro photography.

22nd July “The Power of Sport” by sports photographer Peter Milsom EFIAP/Gold DPAGB BPE*
Peter took up photography seriously in 2006 following 18 years of competitive athletics and coaching. His first efforts were directed at the sports events he was familiar with, and he gradually extended these to other sports including canoe slalom, jet-ski racing and various para sports. Peter is on personal terms with many of the athletes, and provides photographs to help them improve their technique. His aim is to capture those special moments during the highs and lows of sport and the efforts and emotions shown in achieving a world class performance.He is often granted media accreditation to major events which allow him to capture images of world class athletes from the best vantage points.    See some images here.                                                                                               Hosted by Ashbourne

12th August ” Starting from a blank canvas” with Polina Plotnikova
Two topics will be reviewed this evening – Creative Flower Portraiture and Still Life. Both themes will be illustrated with images from Polina’s studio work. During the evening we will learn alot about the techniques and approach Polina uses to help create her stunning images.

19th August “Double Exposure 2” with Guy and Paula Davies. A joint talk covering a broad variety of subject matter. Guy will do the first half with some interiors and staircases emerging as a mini-theme, then some night time shots mainly in London, some rock close ups and finally some landscapes. 26th August Inter-club Competition – Judge will be Ian Daisley.
Similar to the 3 Way but a 2 Way evening this time and only PDI images. Twenty images per club to be submitted in advance. Ashbourne members can submit up to 3 PDIs to usual email address in the normal format. Ashbourne images MUST be submitted by WEDNESDAY 5TH AUGUST to be considered for inclusion in the competition.
